Overview:
Set in Roman Egypt, The Carpenter’s Son follows a family in hiding, where the son, known as “the Boy,” begins to doubt his guardian, “The Carpenter.” As the Boy discovers mysterious powers, he rebels, and both father and son face a series of natural and divine horrors. The film draws inspiration from the Gospel of Thomas, an apocryphal text detailing little-known episodes from Jesus Christ’s childhood. Directed by Lotfy Nathan, this dark and atmospheric horror film explores themes of faith, fear, and the struggle for identity, blending religious mythology with eerie supernatural elements. With standout performances from Nicolas Cage, Noah Jupe, and FKA twigs, the movie delivers a bold reimagining of a sacred story in a chilling new light.
