Set against the retro backdrop of 1986 North Madras, Bakthavathsalam, widely feared as “Baththa,” rules the local underworld as a ruthless gangster involved in bootlegging and kangaroo courts. His violent and volatile criminal lifestyle has alienated him entirely from his wife, Kannima, and his young daughter, Thenmozhi. The trajectory of his life takes an absurd and highly satirical turn on a regular morning when an innocent, timid eight-year-old schoolboy named Sabari accidentally locks the feared don inside a deserted school restroom. While his gang associates and bitter rivals scour the city looking for him, the untouchable gangster is left entirely helpless—stripped of his weapons, his network, and his imposing aura of intimidation. Forced into isolation, Baththa must survive on rusks fed to him through the bathroom door cracks by the candid child. As days pass, the confined restroom becomes an unlikely ground for dialogue, turning a frightening situation into a warm, character-driven comedy. The fearsome adult and the fearless child develop a tender bond that forces Baththa to confront his deep-seated anger, inflated ego, and past mistakes, triggering a profound emotional transformation and leading to a quiet redemption.
