Set in rural Tamil Nadu during the early 1990s, the story unfolds in a harsh landscape shaped by rigid caste divisions, toxic masculinity, and deep-seated social violence. Childhood friends Karthi and Subbu grow up inseparable in this unforgiving environment, their lives driven by the simple necessity of survival. Everything changes with the arrival of Dorothy, a compassionate and gentle woman whose very presence and quiet empathy begin to challenge the generational prejudices surrounding them. When an unexpected misfortune directly strikes Dorothy, the emotional bond between the two friends is radically fractured, prompting Subbu to vanish into an unconventional community living entirely outside society’s expectations. Bound by filial duty but torn by the memory of their brotherhood, Karthi is sent on a relentless cross-country mission to track down his missing friend. What begins as a gritty rustic manhunt transforms into a deeply emotional road journey forced to confront buried secrets, past guilt, and the profound courage required to live truthfully in an oppressive society.
