Sundaramoorthy is an intelligent but timid notary public who has completely distanced himself from active legal practice due to traumatic past experiences. His quiet life is upended when a desperate man named Kuppusamy self-immolates in front of the courthouse premises, out of sheer anguish over his daughter Vennila’s abduction and institutional apathy. Stung by the tragedy, Sundaramoorthy overcomes his fear and files a Public Interest Litigation, teaming up with a rebellious junior lawyer named Aruna. Together, they transition the case into a high-stakes Habeas Corpus petition, pitting themselves against powerful political adversaries and a prominent public prosecutor named Viswanath. Despite facing systemic intimidation and an unexpected arrest, Sundaramoorthy relentlessly tracks down the truth, culminating in a dramatic courtroom reveal when a traumatized Vennila arrives to testify and honor her father’s sacrifice.
