Annabel is a terminally ill cancer patient who spends her time studying nature as she quietly awaits her death. Enoch, a boy who has recently recovered from a coma, struggles with the death of his parents and spends his time attending funerals. He meets Annabel at one of these funerals, and the two fall in love. Their love, though intense, is overshadowed by Annabel’s impending death and the unresolved pain in Enoch’s heart. Meanwhile, Enoch’s only friend is Hiroshi, the ghost of a Japanese Kamikaze pilot from World War II. As Annabel and Enoch form a bond, both must come to terms with their pasts and their futures. The story explores themes of love, death, and the fleeting beauty of life.
