Set along the riverbanks of Manamadurai in the Sivagangai district, the story revolves around a very gullible, innocent elderly farming couple who inadvertently find themselves caught in a dangerous battle against a powerful illegal sand-mining mafia. To safeguard them from a vindictive political system, a steadfast judge orders the protection of the couple and assigns the duty to an unassuming, rookie police constable. The film follows the emotional bond that forms between the young officer and the elderly couple as they become unexpected allies, rallying against a corrupt and deeply entrenched political system to fight for justice and the pride of their people.
