Seen through the eyes of a chicken, Hen follows an escapee who finds refuge at a decaying seaside restaurant in Greece, where she struggles to protect her eggs while observing the complicated and often dark lives of the humans around her. As she navigates a world filled with danger, violence, survival, and unexpected moments of connection, the film presents human existence from an unusual animal perspective. With little dialogue and an experimental visual style, the story blends comedy, crime, drama, family elements, and thriller-like tension, revealing how the instincts of survival, protection, and family can transcend species. Through the hen’s journey, the film offers a strange yet thought-provoking reflection on human nature, vulnerability, dependence, and the determination to build and protect a life of one’s own.
