Set in a remote village, twelve-year-old Manu is chosen to perform the dangerous Thee Chamundi Theyyam ritual, which requires him to repeatedly leap into a towering fire. While the villagers and local astrologer consider the ritual a divine calling, Manu’s parents fear for his life and secretly try to protect him. When the boy dies from the extreme heat, his parents take a stand against the oppressive traditions and local elites who seek to turn his death into a new ritual, ultimately donating his body to a medical college to end the cycle of exploitation.
