Kinaru follows the story of Aravind (Sundeep Kishan), a young journalist who is sent to cover a series of strange occurrences in a remote village near a secluded lake (the “Kinaru” — meaning ‘lake’ in Tamil). The village, once prosperous, is now plagued by mysterious deaths, and locals believe that the lake holds dark secrets tied to an ancient curse. Aravind, initially skeptical, begins to unravel a web of secrets about the village’s history, involving a long-forgotten tragedy, forbidden rituals, and a powerful family with ties to the supernatural. As the danger escalates and the villagers turn against him, Aravind must confront his own fears and face the truth behind the lake’s eerie power. With the help of a local school teacher (Priya Bhavani Shankar), Aravind goes on a dangerous quest to uncover the truth before the curse claims more lives. The film blends mystery, suspense, and elements of folklore, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats till the very end.
